Lovie's Garden Entry Disc

Embedded in the landscape at the entrance to the Baylor garden is a glass and granite disc. The disc is 8' in diameter. The outer perimeter is a banding of granite slab 2" thick and 12" wide. The interior is structural cast glass. The castings are clear iridized, pearlescent sheets of glass with swirls of color. The glass surface has been textured, making it safe for foot traffic. The glass sits on a bedding of Mylar padding around the perimeter of the basin.

The entire disc object is recessed to grade within the existing landscape grade. Only the top surfaces of the granite and the glass are visible.

Custom lighting is installed within the disc and below the glass.

Designed by Jonathan Wayne and Bullseye Glass.
